Be One Percent

It can be really hard for charities to be heard in the crowd. Sometimes they need a simple idea to attract attention and one that easily explains what they do and why they do it.

Be One Percent is a new charity launched in 2011 to encourage people to give 1% of their income to charity.

Ahead of a visit to Malawi to see the work being done by existing donations, the charity founders were looking for a way to help communicate and promote their idea. As a producer and script writer I developed the idea of “Take one minute, be one percent” alongside their team.

The idea was simple; make one minute films illustrating the work being done by Be One Percent and its donaters. This could easily translate into an online campaign to help people share content quickly and easily, spreading and raising awareness.

It is intended the next step will be for people to create their own one minute films telling their own story about why they give 1%.
